diagnostic logging greyed out |

hi,
I installed a brand new exch2k3 on win 2k3 server,all the sp's.
logfiles clean as can be,all exchange services started and running.
when I go to systemattendant->server properties->diagnostic logging
all the options are greyed out and none of the buttons (none,minimum,medium,maximum) are checked at all,
even though I do have entries in the eventviewer for example:

Event Source: MSExchangeIS
Event Category: General
Event ID: 1001
Date: 04.01.2005
Time: 15:03:26
User: N/A
Computer: EX03
Description:
The Microsoft Exchange Information Store has started. Service startup complete, version 6.5 (build 7226.3).

so why can I not set the logging and why is it displayed wrongly?
I am working with full admin rights.
any Ideas?
