Hello,

I noticed one of the Exchange 2003 servers
has 4GB of used space located in the c:\program files\exchsrvr\bin\store.log
file.

No diagnostic logging is turned on. If I stop the Exchange services, rename
the store.log, the file will be recreated once the services start.

What is writing to this log?

Thanks,
Exchange2003

Hi,

This means that at some point in the past store tracking has been enabled -
you should also have a store.ttd file in the same location.

To turn it off, navigate to :

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\Parameters
System

Locate the key called EnableTracing, and set the value to 0, it is probably
set to 1 right now.

Hope that helps,

Kind Regards,

Hello,

Thank you very much for this information.
Several servers had this setting turned on.

We were able to cleanup the large store.log files.

Kind regards,
