Hi all,

I'm running Ex2k std with instant messenger servive.
everything was running fine until 1 afternoon...
I accidentally removed 2 logfiles ( res1.log & res2.log ) under
D:\Exchsrvr\imdata
and after that all the users unable to sign in anymore!!
Anyone can advice me on howto restore or recover my IM service ?

I ever tried uninstalled the IM via Add/Remove Programs( re-applied SP3).
But i dont see any changes in the D:\Exchsrvr\imdata folder and every files
still remain unchange.

Thanks in advanced.

Shut down the services, restore the logs from backup, and start the services
back up.
If you uninstalled/installed the IM bits...not sure there.

Have you considered Microsoft's Live Communications Server 2003 or 2005? If
your Exchange is under an enterprise agreement with Microsoft, you may be
eligible to use the sofware without an additional licensing costs (they do
charge ~$9.00 shipping for the CD-kit )
