Two Exchange 2003 accounts in same Outlook session |
|
|
I have spent ages trying to figure this one out. It must be possible and I
must just be missing something obvious so I hope someone can help. I have
looked on the internet and have not found a complete solution yet.
This is the problem:
I have Exchange 2003 & Outlook 2000
I have a user who needs to maintain two seperate email accounts, but access
both of them from the same Outlook session. As one of these is a public
address (and the email account used to log into exchange) there are several
people who have access to its folders (inbox, sent, deleted etc). The other
account is a private account and is currently set up as an additional account
in outlook. No other users should have access to these folders, but whenever
the user sends an email from this account it is placed in the public
account's sent items. I have worked around this problem by installing a third
party add on that automatically sends the message to the private account's
sent items folder. I cannot find a way to do the same for the deleted items
folder, so anything that is deleted from the Private account is sent to the
Public account's deleted items folder which is accessible by several people.
Is there a way to keep the two accounts completely separate, but still
access them from the same Outlook session?
Thanks

I'd configure his own account as the MAPI account and then connect to
the other account using IMAP.
You can't have two MAPI sessions in one Outlook instance. |
