Are Exchange 2000 CALs valid with Exchange 2003 |
|
|
I have received different answers to this question from distributors.
I have a client who has Exchange 2000 Standard with 50 CALs. It is
integrated with their agency software program and is approaching the 16 GB
limit. We were ready to upgrade to Exchange 2003 Enterprise Edition when one
distributor told us we would have to buy 50 new CALs because the 50 Exchange
2000 CALs were not valid with Exchange 2003. Distributor number 2 says that
they are valid.
Can someone clarify this?
thanks,

For all licensing questions, you might want to contact MS directly. I'm
pretty sure you need new CALs if you didn't get Software Assurance, but
don't listen to me or anyone in here - go straight to the source. |

Thanks Lanwench. I will reword and submit a inquiry with MS licensing.
