Legato or KVS for e-mail archiving |
|
|
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has done a direct comparison
between KVS and Legato's e-mail archive program? I
believe that these are the industry leaders however I
cannot find any documnetation on a comparison made
between the two. Basically which one is the superior
product.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanking You
Elvis

That would really depend on your needs. KVS was recently purchased by
Veritas. Legato was purchased a while back by EMC. If you want to know which
company provides better service, I would say Veritas/KVS. I'm basing that on
the complete and utter failure of EMC sales/service/support to provide any
value to their already overpriced product.

You may want to review all of the products out there.
Legato and Documentum solutions are a bear.
KVS is a good product and has good support. EAS, or
Exchange Archive Solution, also makes an excellent
product and has good support. Commvault also makes
another good product.
Out of all of the products that I have seen, EAS takes
the cake.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for all your responses. It is starting to appear
to me that KVS is probably the better product than
Legato. I have spoken with EAS but their support in North
America is lacking a bit. Thanks for all your feedback
and I think that I will go with KVS after a successful
trial......I will also give EAS another chance...
Once again all your help is greatly appreciated.
Thanking You
