1 exch 2003 for 2 AD-domains in same forest |
|
|
Hi,
I just setup a test-case with a new win2k3 forest
I installed the forest (a.company.com) with the first domain (a.company.com)
--> Win2k3 SP1
I did the exchange 2003 forest and domain prep and installed exchange 2003.
then did the SP1 installation.
I made some user accounts with mailboxes and everything works fine.
After this, I added a new(not child domain) AD-domain(b.company.com) in the
same forest. --> Win2k3 SP1
After installing this, I did the exchange 2003 domain-prep on this domain.
Now I have the following issue:
When creating a useraccount on the new DC (b.company.com), I don't have the
exchange tasks when managing the users.
When I use the first DC (a.company.com) I can add users in the domain
b.company.com and use the exchange tasks on them, but email-adresses are not
automaticaly generated. Also this users cannot access OWA, while for the
users on a.company.com everything works fine. It's like the exchange org is
not working for users in b.company.com
Is there something I did forget or did wrong?

You'll need to install the administrative tools on the DC or other
workstation in the domain. You'll also need to create a RUS object for the
new domain in order for new users to be properly configured.

Okay.. I did the RUS object. It's purpose is clear and it doesn't almost
require no configuration, except for the domain en dc selection.
So I created this object, had it to run all the time, did an update, did a
rebuild, did a reboot of the exchange 2k3 machine, but still no luck..
Users in the b.company.com domain still don't get their email-adresses by
the recipient policy, and when I specify the email adresses manualy, the
still don't appear in the GAL
what oh what could be wrong in this simple looking testcase....
