Re: Cross Site Migration of Contacts and Distribution Groups |

Michael -
If you aren't following the steps in the updated Exchange Deployment tools
to facilitate the cross-site moves, you're making your life much more
difficult. This tool has all of the step-by-step information on how to do
cross-site moves of all of the data and directory objects (including public
folders, mailboxes, contacts, distribution lists, etc) using the Exchange
2003 SP1 functionality:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=271e51fd-fe7d-42ad-b621-45f974ed34c0&displaylang=en
Also, make sure you don't delete your source site until you've confirmed
everything is finished transitioning. I wrote up a blog post on this a while
back: http://blogs.msdn.com/evand/archive/2004/06/04/148379.aspx

| Quote: | Hi all
I do a cross site migration with Exchange 2K3 SP1 from Exchange 5.5. The
mailboxes move works just fine. Now I want to delete my source site. But
I
still have my contacts and distribustionlists in the wrong adm. group. How
Im suppose to migrate them from the source adm. group to the target adm.
group. Rename the DN with ldifde, or is there an easier way?
Cheers,
Michael
