Hi,

I have problems with the RUS (Exchange 2003 SP1).
Its not stamping proxyaddresses to new accounts.

What I have done:
* Update now
* Rebuild
* checked DNS und other services
If I restart the exchanage server, the RUS runs fine, but after a view days
I have the same problem.

How can I set the debug level for RUS ?
I set the debug level for MSExchangeSA --> but no suspected entrys appears
in the Eventlog. .-(
Is there any tool for analyse the problem ?

best regards
Oli

Hi Oli

Try turning up the logging on the MSExchangeAL components (this is RUS).

For all the information you will ever need on troubleshooting RUS have a
look at the following blogs

Hi Tony,

what a nightmare this stupid RUS ........
But the links help me ! Thank you !
I saw, that there was no RUS running, because there was no query about the
USNChanged for new users.

~~~~~~~ snip ~~~~~~~~
Quote:
If you still see no 8011 querying the root of the domain within the next
few minutes, it is likely that the RUS is >hanging waiting for a response
to a search against the DC.
When the RUS is hanging in an LDAP query, you can restart the System
Attendant service to get it going again. >However, the RUS may hang again
unless the cause of the LDAP query hang is identified and corrected. This
is >usually caused by a network problem, and a Network Monitor capture of
the query hanging will be needed to >identify the cause.
~~~~~~~~ snippel ~~~~~~~

So, I restart the System Attendant service and all works fine.

Question to Microsoft:

Why is there no timeout for RUS LDAP query ?
I mean, this error appears, because we have restarted our DC.

best regards

oli
