tracking.log |
|
|
Can somebody tell me what these log files (20050120.log) are in the
c:\exchsrvr\tracking.log folder on my IMC server? I have about 8 of these
files going back about 8 days. I was running low on diskspace and deleted 2
of these files. Do I need to restore these?
I noticed that this folder also exists in my Mail server.
fyi, we're still running exchange 5.5.
Thanks for your help,
Bill

they are message tracking logs that allow you to trace messages from the
Exchange Admin program...you must have it configured to retain them for 8
days...you can change that, and these aren't really necessary...but they are
nice to have for troubleshooting purposes...

Susan,
In my Internet Mail Service Properties window, the "Enable Message Tracking"
is not checked and in the Diagnostics Logging tab all the Logging Levels are
set to None. So why is today's (20050121.log) log file keep gaining in size?
Or am I just looking in the wrong place?
Thanks for your help,
Bill

In the System Attendant, the retention period is 7 days. That's good. But I
don't see where I have logging enabled in Information Store or anywhere else.
Also, I don't know why some of my servers have tracking.log files and others
do not.
Thanks for your help,
bill
