Re: Many Storage Groups or all databases in the same? |

Hi there,
The advantage of storage groups is that you can do backups/restores
simultaneously of multiple storage groups. So, you really need to consider
what your SLA is, and whether or not you'll have the capacity to restore the
chunk of 2500 mailboxes and chunk of 1000 at the same time.

We have a new Exchange 2000 Enterprise SP3 with
OS+Pagefile+Exchange+logfiler on one RAID1.
We shall put the EDB/STM-filern on one RAID5.
We are consolidation from 3 servers to one with the following amount of
data:
about 2500 users with about 45 Gb data that is on part of the company and
about 1000 users with about 20 GB data that belong to another part of the
company
and 60 applicationmailboxes with about 3 GB .
And we have about 100 GB data in Public Foldersr (E-mail archiving).
Shall I put all databases in one and the same Storage Groups but in
different mailbox stores?
Or shall I create 4 Storage Groups with just ONE mailbox stores in it?
All data are saved on the same RAID 5.
How shall I do?
Regards Mikael
