Exchange 5.5 appending remote server name as a delegate on o |
|
|
I've encountered an odd, intermitant problem. I have a client that runs
exchange 5.5 sp4 and Outlook 2003. He uses Exchange for the calendar
and contacts, and to send internal email between employees. He has pop3
email accounts with the company that hosts his website for external
mail.
Sometimes, when he sends a message out via SMTP, Exchange (or perhaps
Outlook) says the message is being sent by a delegate, and the delegate
name is his Exchange address book name with the remote server name
appended. Any other Exchange address book names also have the remote
server name appended. For example,
Mike was sending an email to someone at Intel. The message recipient
saw this:
From: Mike The Client [<mailto:mike@client.biz>] On Behalf Of
"Mike"@scsfmr002.sc.intel.com
Sent: Friday, January 14, 2005 11:56 AM
To: Guy at Intel; "Elena"@scsfmr002.sc.intel.com; Steve the Realtor
Subject: Proposal.
Now this means that when people hit the reply button, this
"Mike"@servername.com gets put in for the email address.
Both "Mike" and "Elena" are users defined in Exchange, and the server
name changes based on who he is sending the message to.
Any ideas on what to do to fix this?

Shanon Lawton
