Hi,

I'm new to Exchange 2003 and have just performed a default install. I can
send email but when the recipient tries to reply they get:
"Unknown user: paul@xxxxx.com
RCPT TO generated following response:
550 5.7.1
Unable to relay for paul@xxxxx.com"

If I switch back to my old POP server everything works fine, so I'm guessing
I've done something wrong configuring Exchange.
Any ideas?
Paul

So you installed Exchange, and set up your recipient policy for your actual
e-mail domain (e.g., mycompany.com). And you have me@mycompany.com as your
mailbox's primary e-mail address, and can send mail directly from Exchange
successfully....but nobody can reply.

.....so who is handling e-mail for mycompany.com, as listed in its public
DNS? http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/MF002.html may help you.
www.dnsreport.com will show you what your public DNS has now.
