Migrating Exchange 2000 to Exchange 2003 |
|
|
I am planning to move from Exchange 2000 standard edition to Exchange 2003
Enterprise edition. I inherited this network and there are two separate
forests. I'm going to build the new Exchange 2003 server and then want to
migrate the mailboxes from the old Exchange 2000 server. Of course, I want to
move all mailboxes, public folders, etc to the new server. Any ideas on the
best course of action.
Any articles or books recommended? I am definitely looking for a good
Exchange 2003 Server book. Will the Exchange migration tools be able to do
the trick. Thanks in advance.

Nothing yet. When I do find something useful, I'll be happy to share.

That article works fine if the servers are in the same domain/ forest.
If you are trying to Migrate mail between two servers in different domains
(which I am) there is very little information that I have found. It seems
like there is no clean way to migrate your mailboxes and public folders
between domains.
None that I have found yet anyway.

I have to agree with Steve here. The problem is that there are two totally
independant forests. I figure that I could manually (yuck)move all of the
mailboxes and public folders but sure would love to have a tool that could
assist.
