I have a single site server E5.5 (sp4) on NT4 sp6 on a domain called "WIGRAM"
I have installed SBS Premium Edition on a separate server on a separate new
domain ("AVIATION").
I am trying to migrate the publix info store and mailboxes to the new server
so I can ditch the old server/domain.
The problem at the moment is with the Migration Wizard telling my I cannot
logon to the Exchange Server. I think it wants to use LDAP but for some
reason cannot - I am guessing on that but that is what I can understand from
previous messages in this group. I have checked the credentials and I am
using the distinguished name, so I am logging in as WIGRAM\Adminstrator, and
I know the password etc is O.K as I am able to browse the server in explorer.
I am finding it very tough going. I have migrated across the user account to
active driectory.
Should I move the old exchange over to the new domain and try like that?

Adam,

You can move the server over, but that may be more work than it is worth.
Check your Exchange 5.5 site to ensure that the Administrator account that
you are using is also an Exchange Admin account. If not, you can simply
create a migration account (i.e. MigAdmin) and give it Administrator and
Domain Admin rights in NT 4.0. This should resolve any rights confusion and
will make your event logs easire to parse knowing that any errors relating to
MigAdmin have to do with your migration.

Hope that helps.
