Good question.
833401 pertains to a Single Server. You can definitely get RPC over HTTP to
work without having your Exchange server being a GC, which is always a good
idea.
I would make sure that you are at Service Pack 1 for Exchange 2003, that
makes RPC over HTTP setup much easier and you do not have to make any
changes to the GC with SP1 installed for E2K3.
Here is a good link for you to review
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/exchange/2003/library/ex2k3rpc.mspx
Hope this helps.

the article states that the Global catalog must be on the Exchange Server.
I am trying to avoid making my exchange server a domain controller.
Can I have to Global catalog on another server and still make RPC/HTTP
work
?
Thanks Roland
