OWA & Win XP SP 2 |
|
|
1/23/05
I installed Win XP SP2 on my home computer a Compaq Deskpro EN SFF, P III,
256 MB RAM, in October 2004. The college I teach at has OWA set up for us to
access our email remotely. Until recently OWA worked as fast as other secure
sites over my DSL connection. Now OWA has slowed to the speed it used to run
at over my 56K dial up connection. Have there been any performance isses
with OWA & Win XP SP2 reported? Do you think the issue is on my end? Or, the
college mail server?
I do not want to uninstall SP2 because of one site.
Thank you,
Bill Beshlian

What speed is the College end?
SSL can hit connections pretty hard, we used owa remotely too in our college
and its progressivley getting slower as more users try to use it from home.
Maybe you should monitor the connections out of hours it maybe as simple as
alot of people are now using it? (Or get you're admin to heh :)

To me it sound like an issue at his end. It might be worth checcking your PC
for spyware to see if this is affecting traffic. Also ask try OWA from some
where else and see what the speed is like.
