Hello.
I am trying to create my own backup program and I am wondering how to
do backups and restores with the "backup and restore api" for Exchange
2003. I do know that I can use VSS as a convenient short cut, to copy
all the files of the database, but that wont enable me to do
incremental backups in a nice way, and it also does not give me the
ability to restore single mailboxes.

That brings me to my second problem. Is there a way to restore single
mailboxes without having to access the administration program of
Exchange? I know rescue store techniques exist, but I am looking for a
way which will enable me to restore single mailboxes through the api,
without having to do anything manually.

Is there someone that can point me to some example source code and
documentation, where the "backup and restore API" of Exchange (2003) is
being used?

So far I have found microsofts documentation but the documentation is
not the best, so I thought I might learn how to use the api more
quickly with alternate sources.

Regards,
Dan
