can receive but cannot send messages |
|
|
Hi,
Im having a problem with exchange 2003 SP1 in my organization
exchange is installed on an active/passive cluster environment.
The problem is that i can receive messages but cannot send them, they get
stuck in the smtp queue, but when i move the exchange group from cluster 1 to
cluster 2, then it starts to work normally. but every time i move back to
cluster 1 the messages get stuck again.
Why is this appening?
apreciate some help
Thanks,
Vasco

I would run the Exchange Server Best Practices Analyzer Tool see
www.exbpa.com.
Cheers,

If you try to telnet to a remote system using port 25 on node1, what
happens?

Hi, Thanks for your reply,
I already did that test, the outbond connections seems to be working fine.
Problably i need to optimize my exchange configuration, the Exchange
database has 3GB and node 1 is running also SQL, the server hardware is more
than sufficient Unisys ES3020 - 2 intel Xeon 3.0 with 3 Gb of Ram. but i
can´t find any information relating to exchange optimization.
Any ideas?

Hi Gerald!
thanks for your reply,
Im sendind with the cluster virtual ip, and this has always worked, and
lately no changes had been made to network configuration.

If the outbound connections are working fine from both nodes, and DNS is
working fine, then I am stumped.
As to runnign SQL and Exchange on the same node, I would say that is a
problem all of its own as both SQL and Exchange take up as much RAM as
possible for performance reasons. I would guess they are battling it out. |
