I have inherited a twenty-five Node Windows 2000 Small Business Network with
one server with SQL & Exchange 2000, File and Print Sharing, and all the
necessary services for it to work, i.e. DC, DNS, DHCP, WINS, etc. running on
it. The Server is continually failing for one reason or another. The
Company has bought the licensing to upgrade to Windows 20003 Small Business
Premium Edition. They would like the server backed up, clocked, and then a
fresh install of Windows 2003, Exchange 2003, etc., and their Data restored
and operational all done in the overnight, two nights from now. Data is
approximately twenty gigabytes.

Any ideas on the best course of action. Any articles or books recommended?
I am definitely looking for a good Exchange 2003 Server book. Will the
Exchange migration tools be able to do
the trick.

Thanks in advance.

That's a tricky situation you've got there.
You can just have one SBS per domain, so if you don't want to upgrade,
there's no way you can do this, unless you install a parallel forest.
If you choose to do that, you can use ADMT to migrate users and Exchange
Migration Wizard to migrate mailboxes.

What do you mean by a parallel forest? How would one go about setting this
up?

By parallel I meant a completely different, isolated forest.
You would have to set up a completely new domain. The major steps would be:
1. install SBS 2003 and configure it with a domain name diferent from the
old one
2. Configure all settings of the SBS (Exchange, internet access, Sharepoint,
etc.)
3. Migrate users from old domain using ADMT
4. Migrate mailboxes using Exchange Migration Wizard
