We are using forms-based authentication in OWA for Exchange 2003. I have
turned on and correctly configured the change password option from within
OWA. Now I want to solve the last step. When a user who has an expired
password or has the "must change password at next logon" option checked in AD
tries to logon then the dll always returns reason code 2. I need to be able
to redirect them to the change password page. Is there a new dll that I can
use to replace owaauth.dll so that it gives me more granularity on the reason
codes? I can't just redirect all reason code 2 errors to the change password
page because sometimes they just type in the password wrong. Help?

I did some more research and it appears that a hotfix from Microsoft was
required. (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;833734)
Apparently owaauth.dll will redirect users to the change password page after
you apply this hotfix to your system.
