OWA 5.5 does not authenticate users |
|
|
Hi all,
This problem is really annoying, I was able to install OWA on exchange 5.5
server just fine, my main OWA page comes up ok as well, when I enter my
mailbox name, it promts me to enter my "domainname\user and password" which
i do, but it doesn't authenticate, keep prompting me again and again.
However If I do it from the exchange machine it self it seems to work fine
and let's me into my inbox.
I'm using windows 2000 domain, no ssl for now.
Please please help I really want to get this working.
Thank you in advance.

I belive the correct syntax is domain/user but you can drop the domain from
the logon if you go to Administrative Tools - Domain Controller Security
Policy - Local Policies - User Rights Assignment - Log on Locally - add your
user name.

I tried both ways domain\user and domain/user, and it doesn't want to work.
Also I made the change you specified and still is not working. :(

I had this problem too on Exchange 2003
To fix it I went to Start>Administrative Tools> IIS
Right-clicked on the Exchange folder, chose properties. Went to the
directory security tab then edit and unticked Integrated Windows
Authentication
Not sure why this made it work but it now authenticates users properly
Hope this helps
