Sorry if this is a repeated question. Could someone help me located detailed
information about installing exchange 2003 in an existing domain with
exchange 2000.

We recently purchased a new server and I want to setup exchange 2003 on this
server. Once everything is in place I would like to remove the existing
Exchange 2000.

So my questions are:
What potential conflicts will arise from installing Exchange 2003 in an
existing domain with Exchange 2000?

Will there be an interruption of service with Exchange 2000 while I’m
setting up Exchange 2003 in the same domain.

Are there any conflicts between Windows 2003 member server and Windows 2000
DC (I was thinking making the new server a member server would be the best
way to introduce it to the existing domain).

Thank you so much in advance for any help you can provide

I seem to be in the sam process as you are. So far I've read the
deployment guide for exchange 2003. (you can download this form
microsoft's web site.)

I've decided to go with the "swing" method as described in KB article
821896
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;821896)

This should have "minimal" interruption, assumeing you have the second
machine correctly configured. I'd suggest making some test accounts
(sacrifical lambs) and preform some test moves, to avoid any unpleseant
surprises. (and of course backups, just in case.)

Very very useful as I am in the same boat also.
