hi !
i'm running exch2003 SP1 under w2003 sp1.

config is FE/BE. I have 4 BE servers : on three of them OWA work fine, but
on the 4th, I get 404 error when selecting msg whith colon (:) in subject.

URLScan ins'nt installed , and servers are up to date (I have SUS server).

IIS setting and exchange virtual server are identical on all servers. I look
at all articles on that error and i'm still unable to find the mistake.

thanks if you can help me....
Alain.

I believe I have the same problem. I also noticed that if I try to reply, reply to all or forward a message I get “The page cannot be found” HTTP 404 error.

Whenever a colon (: ) is in the subject line of an email message my Outlook Web Access (OWA) throws me the HTTP 404 error.

Does anyone have a solution?

I found the solution to my problem.

Solution:
On the Exchange server start Internet Information Services (IIS) (see figure 1). Right click the Exchange folder from the Default Web Site then select properties.

Figure 1

Next select the Configuration… button on the Virtual Directory tab (see figure 2).

Figure 2

In the Wildcard application maps (order of implementation): section, notice the davex.dll file (see figure 3). Press the Edit… button.

Figure 3

Uncheck the “Verify that file exists” checkbox and press the OK button (see figure 4) three times to close all the open forms and close the IIS manager program.

Figure 4

Stop then start the IIS service. Type “iisreset /stop” and “iisreset /start” at the command prompt to stop and start the IIS service.

(If you need the images, email me and I will send you my copy.)
