Greetings Everone,

I'll start off by stating that I'm not a developer and continue on.

We're attempting to add a disclaimer to our outbound smtp e-mails using
the instructions in KB article 317680. I'm attempting to run the code
on our smtp relay with the following results:

***********
cscript smtpreg.vbs /add 1 onarrival SMTPScriptingHost
CDO.SS_SMTPOnArrivalS
ink "mail from=*@domain.com"

Microsoft (R) Windows Script Host Version 5.6
Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation 1996-2001. All rights reserved.

Binding Display Name Specified: SMTPScriptingHost
COM Category (EventType) is not registered...
Running ResetSMTPCatIDs...one moment
** ERROR **
Error registering COM categories
0

Make sure the SMTP Service is installed on the machine
***********

This is on a Windows 2003 Server with the EXchange SDK installed. SMTP
is running at the time of the error message, but the same message
appears if the command is used after SMTP is stopped. I've gone
through the process of reinstalling the SMTP server as well.

Any insight would be helpful.

Hi,

This could be a problem with the smtpreg.vbs. Try to get a different copy
from the msdn site and it should work.

AB: You were right. I resolved this on my own last week.

Had some weirdness afterwards that seemed to only be appending the
disclaimer to rich text and HTML e-mails, but it was resolved seemingly
on its own. Everything is good now. Thanks for getting back!
