2 Exchange Organizations merging |
|
|
Hi,
I am looking for some advice on the following situation please.
CompanyA and CompanyB are in the process of merging to form a new company -
CompanyC. They each at present have their own Exchange 2000/2003
organizations.
Users at each CompanyA and CompanyB have SMTP addresses in the form
"user@companyA.com" and "user@companyB.com". Once merged, but prior to AD
restructuring, we would like to be able to add another SMTP address to all
users at both Companies A & B, in the form "user@companyC.com".
I would like to know if this is possible. And if so, how would we go about
it. How would we setup MX records or mail forwarding or whatever...? so that
users in each distinct exchnage organization (companyA or companyB) could
receive mail addressed to them at the new SMTP address of "user@companyC"
before we have created a new merged forest and new exchange organization for
CompanyC. I hope this makes sense. Any help is much appreciated. TIA.
