I am having this problem also after applying SP2. I get the error using
ActiveSync 4.0 and via EAS. I have a Sprint PPC-6700 with WM5.

Any solutions yet?

Thanks

I am having the exact same problem with the PPC-6700. Google, yahoo, and A9 searches for support code 85010004 yield nothing. I have not been able to achieve a successful sync with my Exchange Server yet!

Ok, now when I try to sync, I am receiving the error message "The connection to the Exchange Server could not be made because the server you have selected requires certificate-based authentication, which is not supported on your device".

I have a cert installed on my PDA in the root certificate directory, so anyone know what is wrong? Thanks.

One thing you want to check in IIS is that the exchange Virtual
directory has integrated authentication turned on.

If you are using SSL or Forms based authentication please follow
KB817379 to create another virtual directory for this to work ( the
reason for this is activesync and oma can only work over http)

I had the same problem with sbs 2003, it kept telling me that I did not have permission to syncronze. It seems that iis in sbs 2003 locks down the websites so that they can only be accessed from the internal network.

If you go into iis and then look at the properties for the exchange active sync web site normally under the default web site. Goto the directory security page and then click on edit for the ip address restrictions section. Change it to granted access instead of deny and then it should work. You might want to do the same for the oma directories.

You may want to restart iis after this and then hopefully this will fix it.
