Does anyone know whatthe compress ratio is within the exchange database? For
instance. If I add 1Gb of data/files to the store how much does that take
with the 16Gb of database information store?

Thanks,
Erin

That's quite difficult to say because it depends on so many factors. One of
them is single instance storage.
"Single instance storage means that if 1000 users on a Microsoft Exchange
Server get the same message, the message is only stored once in the database
and each of the users gets a pointer to the message."

If you think long term and count with deleted items retention, you can
expect a 1:1 ratio. So if you have to plan the storage needed for 100 users
with 50MB mailboxes, the value is 100x50=5.000 MB.

Nice article about this:
"XADM: Storage Capacity Limits of Microsoft Exchange Server"
