E5.5/W2K to E2K3/W2K3 |

Hi,
MARS server Win 2000, SP4 and Exchange 5.5 SP4
VENUS server Win 2003.
Need to install Exchange 2003 on venus in such a way to join the Ex 5.5 site
on mars server, so that i can move all the mailboxes from mars to venus.
installed the ADC( latest from Ex 2003 SP1) on venus, but when i configure
and try run i get an error "MARS is not an Echange 5.5 or an SRS service" do
we require a third server for this transfer, moving of mailboxes. how can i
install Ex 2003 joining the current ex5.5 site.

The information you are looking for is in Chapter 4 - Migrating from
Exchange Server 5.5.

Hi,
I read it , it always says about NT 4.0 domain I have Win 2000 domain.
still i require to run the Active directory migration tool. not clear as how
to proceed if Win 2000 domain. with ex5.5

It looks like that your Exchange 5.5 server was installed on windows 2000
domain controller.
If so, please change the Exchange 5.5 directory port to 390. Several KB
articles mentioned it.
