I'm running SBS 2003, the workstations are XP Pro with outlook 2003.

The problem is when outlook is configured to have 'CACHED MODE' enabled. the
Default Global Address List will not display correctly. If I disable the
cached mode. everything is back to normal.

Example. I've added a new user account on the server, I went into exchange
manger and open up default global address list and clikc on preview.
everything appears correctly alone with the new user a just added. Then I go
to one of the workstation and open up address book with global address list
selected, the newly added user is not it the list.... If I then close
outlook, uncheck 'cached mode' and open up outlook again, then the newly
added user appears normally.

re-enable 'cache mode' afterward does not resolve the problem... is lead me
to think that somehow the global address list was not updated correct, or not
sync correctly. Not sure if there is something that force synronization of
global address to resolve the problem.

I'm right on this or am i completely missing out on something.

thanks

In cached mode Outlook 2003 will also used a cached version of the address
list. If new users have been added then you need to downloaded an updated
copy of the address book (which I think Outlook does once a day but I could
be wrong). If you go to the send/recieve menu (I think) there should be an
option to download the offline address book which should then contain the
users you have added.
