OWA keeps prompting for authentication when clicking on link |
|
|
Hello,
I have an end user that is accessing OWA from his home. He said that when
someone sends him a message with an e-mail address and he clicks on it a
message OWA prompts him for his username and password. He enters those but it
won't accept them and then defaults to webmail.domain.com\<hisusername>.
He is using Internet Explorer. I believe the latest version.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

Is webmail.domain.com the internal domain of your Windows Server?
Or only the smtp-domain for your Exchange Server?
Or are they equal?
cheers,
Stefan

Internally users can enter webmail/exchange to go to OWA.
Externally they type webmail.domain.com/exchange.
I guess they are both equal.

Can the end user replicate this issue on any other machine , ask him to
forward that email to your address and see if you get the same results.
If its a machine specific then it could be some addons with IE, or po-up
blocker.
If you are able to reproduce the issue with other machine and other account
then u need to check the authentication on the virtual directories in IIS
manager for Exchweb.

I have the exact same problem. It only seems to affect one user. I even
used exmerge to export the contents of his mailbox and then re-created it.
After that, it seemed to be OK for a while, but now it is happening again. I
can reproduce the problem on several computers.
