I get this error message from various POP3 clients (Outlook & Outlook
Express) when downloading messages from Exchange Server 2003:
Task ‘<FQDN of mail host> - Receiving’ reported error (0x800CCC0f) : 'The
connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact
your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). The server
responded: +OK'
This occurs when a malformed email (ie: appears the email has been truncated
so there is no subject, sender or recipient information visible).
These emails can be viewed via Outlook (using RPC connection) or Outlook Web
Access, and appear as blank emails. Following is an example of the header
information for such an email:
This is an example the header info:
Microsoft Mail Internet Headers Version 2.0
Received: from 61.95.256.256 ([202.102.201.3]) by <FQDN of mail host> with
Microsoft SMTPSVC(6.0.3790.0);
Tue, 1 Nov 2005 15:39:48 +1100
Received: from .com ([.78]) by ..com
(Netscape Messaging Server 2.30) with ESMTP id AAA2[3
Can anyone shed any light on this for me?
