I have the same problem, however I am not willing to spend $600 on a program
to do this.
I found this company that will do it for $20 - www.payam.com.au however when
I try to ftp my PST to them, in never finishes. I'm not sure what type of
connection they have.
I am not one to criticize MS for everything, however in this case I think it
is irresponsible of them not to include a utility like this on the Exchange
CD.
Thanks

the reason the ost is tied to the profile is for security reasons -
otherwise anyone could copy the ost and open it to read your email. To use
the data later, you either need to keep the profile intact or export the
contents to a pst before deleting the profile. Finally, if you use WinXP you
can use system restore to restore to a state when the profile existed and
export.

ost's are tied to the mailbox and profile - if the profile that created
it, you'll need to buy a program that can convert it to a pst.

I tried the system restore and that did not work.
Again, I am not out to criticize MS, I am a big fan of Outlook and Exchange.
Someone could take a PST file and open it, assuming it is not password
protected. I would just like that same option to recover an OST file without
paying $600.
Thanks
