I can use either of the methods SEARCH or PROPFIND to get my results.
What are advantages and diadv.s of using either? Which one is faster?

PROPFIND is allways going to be faster to get properties from one resource
then search because a search is meant to be used to search a collection of
items which means it would be therefore slower because it has to evaluate
all those items within a folder to see if they meet the search criteria(or
at least scan an index). PROPFIND doesn't have this overhead. Search is for
use when searching for items that meet a specific criteria where PROPFIND is
for getting the properties of an item where you already know the href.
