Question About POP3 Mail connector with MS Ex 2000 |

Hi i just installed exchange 2000 and named xyz.net and ipaddress a.b.c.d
I am using services of abc company which has name abc.net and ip address
w.x.y.z
i changed my mx record on external server to ip address a.b.c.d instead of
w.x.y.z
The real question is here now.
When my pop Event Type:
Event Source: POP3 Connector
Event Category: Download
Event ID: 12050
Date: 06/12/2005
Time: 13:45:07
User: N/A
Computer: server
Description:
POP3: Failed to check the POP3 account for abc at host abc.net on port 110.
The error is 86 and i found it its user name and password mismatched error
and when i tried to login through webmail to this account with same password
it allow me to do. can any one help to resolve that problem as i searched
different ms articles but not solved
