I want to use Public folders to share company contact lists and use the
enriched functionality of Outlook, but does seem limited if they won't sync
with the GAL. The GAL is used to feed other data systems and so has to link
up.
Any thoughts would be welcome- and thank you for responses to my previous

Public Folders of type "contact" are not synched to the GAL. However,
it is a 10 second job to make the contact folder a member of your
Outlook Address Book and place the contact folder into your Public
Folders | Favourites folder to that they are searchable and usable
when you're offline.
But no, for synching and extra-Exchange reference purposes you can't
use the PF contacts as an extension of the GAL. |
