Hi there,

We have 2 Exchange 2003 SP1 running on windows 2003 SP1 in a front-end &
back-end confign & is located at HO. There are 8 branches connected thru a
Site-to-Site VPN using Sonicwall at all the locations. Users connect using
MAPI, RPC over HTTP, OWA. Few users in some branches all of a sudden about 2
weeks back reported multiple copies of the same mail being received (4 or 5
copies). This is now only caused internally but all users use Outlook
2003/2002/2000.

Can anyone help in this matter as it is really frustrating to users to
receive the same mail 4 or 5 times.

Further: There are no Antispam/Antivirus softwares enable on the Outlook and
still users receive multiple copies......

Secondly, users always get a message on outlook that 'Outlook is trying to
retrieve data from the exchange server' & coneection lost and connection
restored messages.

Thanking you in advance...!
Regards

Hi
this error occur when you have not reliable connection between your
exchange server and outlook client .since when an outlook tries to
download mail from exchnage it stopped by error and next time it try
from first mail .beacause in pop3 cooncetion outlook wait the copy end
and then remove the mails.so mail your connection well.try use routing
group design and sometime if you establish mapi connection to exchange
(exchange coonection in outlook 2003 account setup) it makes better.in
this coonection it does not return to first point after failour.
