ExBPA reports warning: "Public folder store is present on front-end server".
The corresponding article tells: "However, you should never have a public
folder store on a front-end server."
But I MUST have a public folder store on a front-end server, because when I
dismount it, mail flow to mail-enabled PFs is disrupted. So this
recommendation leads to problems...

Dismounting the database isn't the same as deleting the Public Folder
Store.

Rich is correct - you need to dismount *and* delete the public folder store
on the front-end server.

Cheers,
