How to move Exchange 2003 to new hardware and keep the same |

Thanks for reading...
I've read the article regarding the subject (#822945) but I have some
questions. Let's say that I bring up the box and name it the same, and the
setup of exchange on the new box with the restore doesn't go well. Will I be
able to go back to my current exchange box?
I'm planning to backup my one storage group and one public folder tree using
Windows Backup and restoring it the same way. (I don't have any SRS
database)

One of problems that I'm encountering (one of the reasons why I'm moving to a
new hardware) is because I'm getting a MAPI error while I try to move the
mailbox from AD.
Have you tried both ways? (of course, your suggestion sounds safer and was
my first choice until I ran across this issue)

I don't know that you really *need* the server to have the same name....if
you leave the old one up 'n running while clients connect the first time,
Outlook should automatically redirect to the correct mailbox. If you're
using OL2003 and cached mode, either update Office/Outlook to SP2 or apply
the necessary hotfix so the OST files don't give you problems.
