Two Exchange, Two AD Domains, One Email Domain |
|
|
Hi,
I have a customer who has requested the following setup.
One Email Domain - @company.co.uk
Two AD Domains - On two different sites, SiteA and SiteB
Two Exchange Servers - One on each site.
We would like the MX record to point at the Exchange server on SiteA and
route emails for mailboxes on SiteB to the exchange server on SiteB.
Can this be done and how?
Thanks,
Joe

You know that you don't use MX records internally right? |
So your ISP will provide the MX records to both domains and point them
at wherever your Internet Connection terminates.
Your Recipient Policies in the Exchange organisation will generate the
right addresses for the users as per your filter
Inbound mail will be subjected to a DC lookup and sent to the right
mailbox server.
You won't need to do any work around the routing of mail between
servers. |
