We update all our Exchange servers to SP2 - 2 FES and 10 Back end servers.

After the upgraded was completed we noticed that OMA is no longer working.

OWA is working fine as is OMA if we connect via a normal browser

When we try connect from Wireless devices we get an "access is denied"
message. The FES shows an event like this...

The FES servers are running in a DMZ and the site is SSL enabled.

Event Type: Failure Audit
Event Source: Security
Event Category: Logon/Logoff
Event ID: 529
Date: 12/14/2005
Time: 9:49:16 AM
User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Computer: DMZEXCH2
Description:
Logon Failure:
Reason: Unknown user name or bad password
User Name: domain\username
Domain: domain
Logon Type: 8
Logon Process: Advapi
Authentication Package: Negotiate
Workstation Name: DMZEXCH2
Caller User Name: DMZEXCH2$
Caller Domain: domain
Caller Logon ID: (0x0,0x3E7)
Caller Process ID: 2228
Transited Services: -
Source Network Address: x.x.x.x
Source Port: 1254

Nothing else has changed!!!

What happened in SP2 to cause this? Any ideas?

Hi,

seems to be linked with the 'unsupported device' or something like that !

"access denied" !

before upgrading to sp2, every mobiles were able to connect to oma !!!

Regards.

fixed!

Authentication settings on the Exchange Virtual Directorys (when you drill
down in System Manager) are not probatating to IIS. Manually matching the
authentication settings using IIS fixes the problem!
