..I would like to create an infopath form that will as part of its
functionality create a new appointment in a shared calendar. Is the correct
approach to use a WebDAV call embedded in the form. Or should I put the
webdav on the server and have infopath call the webservice?

I've taken a look at the Recruiting Acceleratorwhich seems a lot more
complicated than it needs to be. If anyone has some sample code or a
reference it would be greatly appreciated.

You can put WebDAV code in the form.

If you need WebDAV API for Exchange server,
use our component WebDAV .NET for Exchange.
