Is there anyway to configure the ExBPA to update through a proxy server?

ExBPA will use the settings from IE. However, there are a few scenarios that
ExBPA doesn't handle well, such as proxies that require authentication.

Cheers,

Are there any register settings that I may be able to modify so that I can
pass crendentials? Our proxy requires authentication.

Thanks

Sorry, we don't have this functionality right now. I'm certainly interested
in investigating what we can do about this for future versions. Can you tell
me what firewall you use, and how you would normally authenticate to it? For
example, when you open your web browser and navigate to an external URL,
does it normally pop a dialog box at that point?

Cheers,

Thanks James. Forgive me, but ISA is not one of my strong subjects - do you
install the ISA firewall client on your workstation machines?

No, ISA is an application layer firewall that runs on a server. All clients
use automatic configuration scripts in Internet Explorer to point external
web traffic to the ISA server. The ISA server checks the user's AD
permissions to validate if they have permission to access external sites.
Since the ExBPA doesn't have any proxy support options, I'm stuck.

Sorry, I should have clarified. I know that ISA server itself will be
running on a server-based computer on the network. However, I know that
there's also a client-side app "Microsoft Firewall Client for ISA 2004"
(usually sits in the system tray on an XP workstation) that controls the
communication between the client and the ISA server. I know that's how we
have things configured within Microsoft. I just wondered whether you had
this client-side app installed, as my own workstation has to go through ISA
2004 to reach the Internet, and ExBPA is happy with this arrangement.

I just wondered if there's a specific reason why you don't use the
client-side piece.

Thanks!

I couldn't tell you why we don't use that client side app. I don't control
that aspect of our infrastructure. I would have to do some research.

I'd certainly be interested to find out whether ExBPA works when the
Firewall Client for ISA is installed. It might narrow down the problem.
