Coexistance Exchange 2003 with other applications |
|
|
I have 10 small offices to support through europe. Each of them has only one
server, as there is 4 to 6 persons working in each office.
I have to change all exiting servers by DL380 G4 4GB memory Raid 1 for
system and Raid 5 (3x 144GB disk + 1 HS).
Is there any issues to have a server Windows 2003 SP1 with all the following
apps on it:
Microsoft Exchange 2003
SMS 2003 SP1 Secondary Site
Sophos Anti Virus
Antigen
BackupExec 9.1
It is also the Data server, print server, DNS, WINS, DHCP.
Would it be ok or should I envisage another solution?
Thanks for your help

The only concern I have is that you have SMS and SQl on the same server as
Exchange.
They both require alot of system resources.

SQL will not be installed on this server. SMS secondary site do not have

You should be ok, I am not very familiar with SMS. Is there a componnent
that SMS uses IIS on the local server? You may check to see if it will
conflict with 2003, I am not completely sure.
Since you don't have that many users on the Exchange box it souldn't have
any performance issues.
