Hi,

I try to replicate my public folders from an Exchange 2000 server to a
Exchange 2003 Enterprise server. I want to get rid of the 2000 server. I
followed the instruction in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307917/ .

I right-click a folder and from the replication tab I add the 2003 server. I
wait for the replication to happen, and when it says "in sync" I remove the
2000 server from the replication tab. After that the folder is unaccessible.
It still displays in Outlook in the folder tree, but it is unaccessible.

BTW, the public folder is never listed in the "Public Folders" or "Public
Folders Instances" of the new (2003) server.

I applied both Windows Server 2003 service pack 1 and Exchange Server 2003
service pack 2.

Both servers are on the same VLAN, same subnet.

Any ideas ? Am I missing something ?

look under the properties on the DB level in ESM. Check to ensure you have
the correct store listed under that Database. Meaning you should have the
2003 server listed not the 2000 server.

The clients could be looking at the old PF Store still.

I've looked at the properties of the Public folders and it points to the
right database.

Any other tips ?

My source server was using a "smart host" to forward smtp messages. I
removed it and the replication works now.
