Encountered error re-running domainprep |
|
|
Hello,
I'm looking for assistance in determining an error I encountered while
running Exchange 2003 domainprep. The reason for running domain prep
is the real root of my problem which is that I have been unable to
connect a brand new installation of Outlook 2003, running on Windows
XP, to a mailbox on my Exchange 2003 server. While trying to create an
Outlook profile, I encounter an error indicating that Outlook could not
log on. One solution recommended to solve this problem was to run
domainprep again; such is why I have been trying that.
I have attempted several times to run domainprep but each time I
encounter the error found in the following setup log fragment, which is
the very last section of the most recent attempt. Note that I have
replaced my actual domain name with "domain".

Have you tried a different media disk? It almost looks like it is trying to
find files that aren't there or damaged.
Also you may try running policytest.exe against your domain which is on the
Exchange 2003 Media and also can be downloaded as part of the All In One
Tools for Exchange. This will check to see if you have the correct
permissions to run \DomainPrep make sure you use the same UserID that you are
using to run DomainPrep.
