new exchange server install |
|
|
Hey guys..i am in the process of bringing up a new exchange 2003 server (and
get rid of the old slower one).
I moved a few old mailboxs from the old server(win2k/exch2003) to the new
one(win2k3) to test if it works. I was able to create a new outlook profile
and access the new email server from outlook. I tried to send a few messages
between the servers to internal mailboxes and that isnt working (should
it?)...But i am able to send/receive outside mail to one of the old boxes i
moved to the new server.
I was thinking if i move all the mailboxes...decommision the old server
(kb822931) and then redirect my firewall ports to the new one..it should
work. But as of right now the old one is passing the mail as far as i can
tell and im afraid to kill it just yet...unless i know the new one will work.
also... there are also a bunch of messages in the new servers queue with
NEWSERVER-IS@domain1 with failures...where did these come from ?
I just want to be cautious before i move anything important :)
Thanks for any help
