We are developing a new security system (let's call it SECSYS) similar to
Windows 2003's (user, groups, roles, etc). but that does not deppend in
Windows's one. The reason for doing is that we have multiple systems on
different client platforms (win32 client/server, web-based access through
PC/MAC, etc.) and we are designing a one-password-only system for everything
that a user can access.

My question is: is there any way to connect SECSYS to Exchange so mailboxes
are created for users in SECSYS (instead of users of Windows 2003) and, of
course, client mailboxes use SECSYS's passwords for access.

I hope you understand what I need.

I don't believe this would be possible Exchange is not a standalone
application Active Directory is used for most of it innerworkings more then
just security. If you want to create a Single Sign On network then you need
to look at methods that will synchronize accounts and passwords. You might
want to check out

also do a search on google there are many vendors that already provide these
type of service eg Dirxml from Novell.
