There has to be an easier way... |
|
|
Hey group,
I am currently migrating a windows 2000 domain with exchange to windows 2003
with exchange. I have the old email server and new email server online and
all is well, except for the public folders. My client has about 150 public
folders. My question is there an easier way to replicate the folders between
servers other than selecting each and every folder and changing the
replication properties? To make matters worst, their old email server will
be wiped and will become their permanent email server. I really dont want to
go through each folder again.
Thanks,
Douglas Hiser

Download the latest Microsoft Exchange Server Deployment Tools
(http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=271e51fd-fe7d-42ad-b621-45f974ed34c0).
Included with these tools is a script named pfMigrate.wsf to do exactly what
you need.
Type pfMigrate.wsf /? at the command prompt for instructions. It will
basically replace the source server for the target server in the replication
tab automatically.

Your making me remember the old days...yuck This is one of the best tools to
come out for Exchange. Saved me tons of time on my last Customer Migration
from 5.5 to 2003 with 10 Sites and 60 5.5 servers all with seperate PF Trees.
Also look for the switch for System Folders as well, definately don't forget
those.
