Forward Exchange messages to external SMTP Address? |
|
|
Exchange 2003. We have several users who will be out of the office for
extended periods. Is there a way to forward Exchange mail to an external
SMTP (Internet) address? Something like Exchange's "Deliver To" option? And
leave a copy in the user's mailbox?
Seems like it should be simple, any other SMTP server I can do this on, just
can't grasp what I need to do to make this happen in Exchange.
Thanks,
Jeff

User Properties | Exchange General | Delivery Options. Will need to create a
Contact for the user's external/non-Exchange email address first.
How to configure a mailbox to forward mail to a mail-enabled contact

Its in ADUC under Exchange General Delivery Options. You will see the
forwarding address section. You will need to make a Custom Recipient/Contact
in AD to point it to with the correct SMTP address.
Also you will need to do this from a Server/Workstation that has Exchange
System Manager installed.

Ah, that's the link I was missing. Creating the mail enabled contact and
forwarding to that. I knew there was something I wasn't grasping in the
process.
Thanks,
Jeff
